Shoulder Pain: What Helps Combat a Calcified Shoulder?
Sudden pain in the shoulder can be caused by calcium deposits. Such a calcified shoulder often remains undetected. Shock wave therapy can help to prevent surgery in acute cases.
OUR CLAIM
High professionalism paired with empathy and an individual, honest service with optimal support in terms of time
Our orthopaedic practice in Munich is a place you can turn to in confidence with your physical complaints. In addition to the treatment of general orthopaedic conditions – whether knee, hip, shoulder or little finger – we focus on creating individual therapy concepts for back pain.
We always focus on non-surgical and conservative methods of orthopaedics. In addition to the use of state-of-the-art technology, it is particularly important to us to do justice to the human side of our profession. We treat people, not just illnesses.
By injecting pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory agents (hyaluron, Traumeel), discomfort in the locomotor organs can be eliminated without burdening the body with more medication than necessary.
Shock wave therapy is a newer form of treatment that promises gentle treatment of inflammation, calcifications or injuries in many cases.
Autologous blood therapy with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) alleviates the pain of osteoarthritis and accelerates the healing processes of inflammation and injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
Infiltration for back pain involves injecting a mixture of a local anaesthetic and an anti-inflammatory. This blocks the transmission of pain and reduces inflammation.
Radiofrequency therapy/thermocoagulation is a less invasive procedure that can be performed on an outpatient basis. It uses a very thin probe to permanently block pain-conducting nerves by means of heat coagulation.
This gentle, minimally invasive procedure can be used for protrusions, minor prolapse or wear of the intervertebral disc in the cervical or lumbar spine, with or without pain.
This procedure is a low-risk alternative to open disc or spinal surgery. Thanks to the elastic catheter, an affected nerve root can be treated precisely.
